Joe Cocker records Marc Broussard's "Hard Knocks"

On his new record, the legendary Joe Cocker released his version of "Hard Knocks," a song originally written and recorded by Marc Broussard. According to Cocker's official Facebook, the album (also called "Hard Knocks" and released overseas on October 1) entered the German album charts at #1. None of Cocker’s previous studio albums have debuted in the top spot.

Broussard is a much underrated soul singer from Louisiana who is perhaps best known for writing and recording "Home," one of the most well-written and passionate songs of the current decade. It must be a huge honor for him to hear one of his songs recorded by a legend. Hopefully Cocker's album can help bring Broussard more notoriety for his own recordings as well.
